Launched in November 2005, UFO Moviez, the digital cinema initiative of the Apollo Group is the world's largest networked digital cinema chain. UFO has revolutionised the way films are distributed and exhibited in India by making available all movies ' First Day First Show ' pristine quality, even at the remotest corners of India. UFO has so far installed over 850 theatres in India, and is growing at a rapid pace of 75 theatres per month. Since November 2005, UFO has released over 370 movies in 12 different languages aggregating to nearly 400,000 screenings.
It is the only company in the world to deliver full length feature films directly into cinema halls by means of a satellite in less than real time. The pristine quality of UFO digital cinema and the 192 bit encryption technology that protects the content end to end, has endeared UFO Moviez to all - right from the President and Prime Minister of India to the stalwarts of the Indian film industry. UFO, though started as an India centric project was found to have wide applications even in the international markets. UFO overseas plans are segregated into Europe and rest of the world (ROTW).
